I love smoothies. Sometimes I make them my light meal of the day. This one is named for my friend on Tampa Cake Girl.
1 container of vanilla yogurt, store brand 6 ounces
1 frozen banana
4 frozen pineapple slices
10-15 frozen mandarin oranges
1/3 cup milk
2/3 cup orange pineapple juice, I used Simply Orange with pineapple
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, optional
Put all ingredients in a blender. Do not add ice. Blend. Check consistency, if it’s too thick, add more milk or juice.
Makes one large smoothie or 2 to share.
The secret here is using frozen fruit. No need for bits of ice or watery smoothies if you don’t drink it right away. Change the flavor by using different fruit combinations. My favorite is orange, pineapple and banana. I don’t use frozen bananas to bake, only for my smoothies.
